This FB page is to promote myself as an Author. I have an upcoming novel "A Way to Escape." It is a fictional account of a fifteen-year-old and her family in Jamaica in the 1950s. As well, the conditions that led to her family's breakdown and her mother's consequent migrating to Canada, later sponsoring her and her siblings. Watch this space for the launching of this novel.

And Yet I Rise…
What price is worth paying to walk with the Lord and reap His benefits?
We must each ask ourselves, what price am I willing to pay?
Living for God comes with a cost and that cost is dying to our flesh. And dying to our fleshy desires takes sacrifice.
But only we know what is worth giving up - things that displease God - in order to please Him.
Because to experience God’s signs, wonders and miracles in our lives, we must be willing to give Him full access to the areas we hold dearly, and in secret.
We can’t only give parts of ourselves, God requires ALL: total surrender of our heart, soul and mind.
It is in this giving that we reap the reward of His miracles, wonders, and blessings that benefit our lives.
James 4:7
“Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

And Yet I Rise…
What we live is what we attract; because we attract who and what we are.
If you find yourself wondering why certain things keep happening to you, or why certain people keep being in your aura?
Like it or not, you are unconsciously inviting these circumstances, or these individuals in your life.
It’s sort of, show me your company, I’ll tell you who you are.
In order for our surroundings to be different, we must be different.
Our character, our ways, and our space must be worthy of what we desire it to be.
Remember, the mirror only reflects what it sees. So, what does your mirror see?
1 Thes. 5:21-22
“test everything, and hold fast to what is good. Avoid every form of evil.”

And Yet I Rise…
A mother is one half of the reason we are here on this earth and this makes her irreplaceable.
She was the first heart beat we heard. She was our first warrior, putting her body on the line to bring us into this world.
But a mother does not have to be the one that birthed us.
She could be a stepmother, godmother grandmother, aunt, or a loving woman who came into our lives and fulfilled the role of our birth mother.
Whatever our story, a mother embodies love, care, wisdom, compassion.
Let’s thank God for mothers in whatever form she comes.
Exodus 20:12
“Honour your mother and father so your days may be long.”

And Yet I Rise…
You only have one life so live the life you choose. Remember, life has an expiry date so make the most of every moment.
As long as the life you live doesn’t infringe on another person’s life, do you.
And for best results let God lead the way.
Seek Him in every decision; follow as He leads and stick to Him closer than a brother.
No one can walk in your shoes. So trod your own journey; go up every hill, then down every valley and if you fall, with God you’ll learn to rise again.
Life is limited; maximize your living.
Ps. 16:11
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

And Yet I Rise…
A great advice I once got was “Don’t postpone joy,” and I’m passing it on today.
How many times have we said, I’ll do this later, I’ll go there tomorrow, I’m gonna take that holiday next year and that time never comes.
Start making things happen in your life today- make experiencing joy a daily thing; enjoy the small victories.
This doesn’t mean living recklessly, but seeing the good in every situation and let nothing rob you of a joyful encounter.
If you have to walk away from certain people, or certain places - do it, for your sanity and joy.
Laugh more. Let your joy be infectious. Live outside your usual perimeters 'cause that's where joy awaits, Amen.
Ps. 118:24

Focus on what’s ahead the past is just that - past, gone, waiting to be forgotten.
The only time to reflect on the past is to remember what’s good, things that make our hearts glad.
To keep torturing ourselves about what could’ve been is to cause sickness in our bodies and pain in our heart.
Nothing will bring back yesterday, tomorrow is not promised; so why waste that energy when we could be living with peace of mind.
Worrying comes from either looking behind, or looking beyond today.
So wake up each morning knowing it’s a new chance to right the wrongs of the past;
And enjoy today, it’s a present from God, Amen. Matt 6:34
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.”
