The Lord is my guide, I write as He leads

And Yet I Rise…Focus on what’s ahead the past is just that - past, gone, waiting to be forgotten. The only time to reflect on the past is to remember what’s good, things that make our hearts glad. To keep torturing ourselves about what could’ve been is to cause sickness in our bodies and pain in our heart. Nothing will bring back yesterday, tomorrow is not promised; so why waste that energy when we could be living with peace of mind. Worrying comes from either looking behind, or looking beyond today. So wake up each morning knowing it’s a new chance to right the wrongs of the past; And enjoy today, it’s a present from God, Amen. Matt 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.” ... See MoreSee Less

And Yet I Rise… No man is an island and no man stands alone. God made us as individuals - who need other individuals to succeed. Our lives are intertwined from birth, and for the rest of our lives it will take a village, a community, a country for our survival. The food we eat comes from others planting the seeds, picking the produce, preparing it for consumption and getting it into the markets; the houses we live in are constructed by the hands of others; the job we have, someone hired us so we can provide for ourselves and family. I could go on and on to demonstrate our need and dependence for one another. So when pride rides up about self sufficiency, remember it took two people to create you; a whole healthcare system to sustain you; And God’s grace and mercy to see you through. Only God is complete by Himself that’s why we need Him, Amen.Ephesians 4:2 “Be humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” ... See MoreSee Less

And Yet I Rise… It’s the season of Jesus’ death and resurrection celebration. Those of us who believe that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour will reflect on the sacrifice He made for us dying on the cross at Calgary; and the goodness and mercy that His sacrifice has provided us. So every day we thank God for Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, because without Him life is not worth living. Give Him thanks and praise. 1 Cor. 15:57 “Thank God for He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” ... See MoreSee Less

And Yet I Rise…Today belongs to me. Tomorrow belongs to the Lord. The Lord requires that we follow as He leads and let His guidance be our compass. He tells us not to worry about tomorrow but to leave what troubles us with him and rest. So if we walk with Him one step at a time, one day at a time, and appreciate His blessings that come with each day, there is no need to wonder what tomorrow brings because He has already gone ahead and laid tomorrow’s path. The Lord promises to see us through every trial as it comes, so we need not rush into tomorrow, from today. Praise God who’s got us covered, Amen. Matt 6:34 “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” ... See MoreSee Less

And Yet I Rise… Trust God’s timing. Trust His ways. Trust His words. Trust God’s plans for your life, because only He knows the beginning from the end for each of us. God won’t lead you half way and suddenly abandon you. He knows the journey He’s taking you on, so with all confidence, follow as He leads. Know that your patience will be tested, your faith will be stretched and your love might wane, but continue to trust and believe, and in time you will be fulfilled, Amen. Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” ... See MoreSee Less
