Could you be blocking your own blessings? Could your mouth be forecasting doom and gloom over your life?
We cast the dye on our own lives by the things we say about ourselves.
We sign and seal our fate by callously speaking negativity into our lives; saying, “I can’t,” more than, “yes, I can” or “I’ll try. “ “I’m sick,” before even seeing a doctor.
Having the feeling that someone’s out to get you; and always getting the raw deal in every situation, comes from a negative mindset of fear.
And fear does not come from God.
So check your thoughts, and the words you speak to yourself before declaring everything’s a lost cause.
Because you’re not only blocking your blessings, but shaping your destiny.
Proverbs 18:21
“The tongue has the power of life and death. Those who love it will eat its fruit.”

In these times we really have to know ourselves and what we stand for. These are not times to be unaware of matters concerning our lives. Because, if we’re unsure about where life’s taking us, we’ll remain stuck in yesteryear, wondering where did time go, while envying others for progressing with time.
We’ll fall prey to people who use us for their own agenda, because we have none of our own.
So don’t be toppled by inertia, self doubt and hopelessness.
Become introspective; get quiet before God to gain wisdom, and use that understanding to stand firmly in the knowledge of you.
It’s time to know ourselves and our worth. Hosea 4:6
“My people perish for the lack of knowledge.”

No matter how things may seem, you’re alive today, because of God.
You have a roof over your head, food to eat, clothes on your back and hope in your heart.
If we say the Lord is our Saviour, our protector, our guide, then there’s nothing to worry about.
Yes, things don’t always go as planned, things seem difficult at times, but as long as we trust Father God, He’ll see us through the difficulty.
So what looks bleak today, if we focus on the goodness of God, guaranteed, will look better tomorrow.
Trust, believe and stand in faith.

You have a roof over your head, food to eat, clothes on your back and hope in your heart.
If we say the Lord is our Saviour, our protector, our guide, then there’s nothing to worry about.
Yes, things don’t always go as planned, things seem difficult at times, but as long as we trust Father God, He’ll see us through the difficulty.
So what looks bleak today, if we focus on the goodness of God, guaranteed, will look better tomorrow.

And Yet I Rise…
It’s not that we want to sin, or go out of our way to displease God, but we do; and most times it is done unconsciously. Because no matter how hard we try, if we’re not discerning enough we will fall prey to the devil. He is there waiting for us to slip, have a misstep, make a mistake to show us we are no good.
But it’s not that we are necessarily bad, it’s that we become distracted and before we know it, we have fallen deeper into sin than we meant to.
So how do we stay two steps ahead of the devil?
Stay prayed up, be vigilant, discerning and in tune with the spirit of God, so He can lead us before we speak or act in ways that displease God.
1 Peter 5:8
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking those he may devour.”

It’s not that we want to sin, or go out of our way to displease God, but we do; and most times it is done unconsciously. This soccer season has brought joy and excitement to the world. And thank God, the world needed some reprieve from the heaviness.
For almost two months, lovers of the sport as well as “bandwagoners” were caught up in the moment: happy, friendly, engaging, and hopeful.
But since all good things come to an end, people must be prepared for the let down.
Not because of a loss, but the realities of life will kick in.
And if we were unhappy before… sadness will creep in again.
So in order not to sink into despair and disappointment, get anchored to the Lord.
Only He must be our true devotion.
Our Lord and Saviour must be the reason for our joy, so we won’t be up today and feel down tomorrow, but live in a constant state of contentment.

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation.”

I was reminded of this recently. The people in our lives that seemed always cool and in control; always had a smart response like “I’m great”, with a quick smile, when asked how they were doing.
But deep down, behind the smile, their eyes were screaming for their souls to be seen.
Because everyone expects “strong” people not to cry, not to show fear and to always be there for everyone else.
But most times they are secretly abusing substance, drinking alone, and dying inside.
So before you assume that the strong person is doing well, ask God to guide you as you reach out and engage them, in a compassionate, loving conversation.
Gal 6:2
“Bear each other’s burdens, fulfilling the law of Christ.”
